I've got a new look and a new website! Head over to sandragalestudio.com for my latest news and to purchase my art

I have been making the most of the extra time I have been given on what I’ve been calling my imaginary creative retreat. I have been loving taking online courses to refresh my creative energy, practice my illustration, and learn new skills. I’ve been sharing some of my creations on Instagram and I have been so grateful to have received really lovely feedback, and especially to have people ask how to purchase my work. So I have added another skill and created an online store, and a facebook page.

I would love for you to like my FB page, or follow me on insta @s_gale, or head over to my website and sign up for my newsletter💖❤️💃 And if you do all three I will be doing the happiest of happy dances!

keeping the creative train rolling

I did a very exciting (for me) thing.

I have enrolled in a Lilla Rogers, Make Art That Sells class. I have been following her on instagram for quite some time and never had the courage to actually book in for one. There were always too many reasons not to.

But here I am, doing Assignment Bootcamp, for the next four months. I am terrified and exhilarated. The class facebook group has over 700 people in it. How insane is that?? And there is some serious talent in that group. I just keep reminding myself that I am doing this for fun and to improve, and to see what happens when I move out of my comfort zone.

It kicked off with a warm up task to explore the shapes in a St John's Wort. I had fun playing with the shapes. First step was to trace the shapes...
Then to have fun playing, and see what we came up with.

I can't wait to share more of my creations! Have you made time for yourself recently? Sandra x

getting creative again

Hello there! Yes, it has been eight years between posts, but what's a few years between friends?!
Somehow life got in the way and my poor little blog has been terribly neglected. Well it is time to change that. This year is all about me having fun while I re-embrace my personal creativity. I am lucky to have a job where I get to be creative every day, but I miss making for the fun of it, and after eleven years working for Intrinsic, I have started to forget what my own style even is!

My first step towards rediscovering my personal creativity was taking Charly Clements' fun with faces skillshare class. And I had so much fun! Check out my cute drawings of my daughter...

I loved drawing for me again, and I am loving being back here writing again! I can't wait to see where this journey will take me. In the meantime, please tell me I am not the only one who picks up a hobby again after taking a massive break!
